Frequently Asked Questions
How long are sessions? How often will we meet?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, once a week, once every other week, or every few weeks. In your first session we will discuss recommendations regarding frequency of visits and your preferences/availability in order to determine what will work best for you.
Do you accept insurance?
I am now accepting United Healthcare (UHC) plans, which typically include UBH & UMR. To understand your insurance benefits & coverage for behavioral health, call the number on the back of your insurance card. Beyond UHC, I am considered an Out of Network (OON) provider. Upon request I am able to provide a receipt for services that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out of network reimbursement. For more information, contact your insurance provider regarding reimbursement for OON licensed therapists.
Can we meet virtually?
Yes! I currently am only offering online counseling. For online sessions, I utilize professional and HIPAA compliant video technology that was specifically created for counseling and healthcare services.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Prior to COVID-19, I offered in-person sessions at my office located in St. Louis, MO. However, I have since transitioned my practice fully & completely to online-only.
Are my sessions confidential?
Your sessions are confidential and private. As a licensed therapist, I am a mandated reporter should you disclose that are of danger to yourself and/or others, which would be an exception to confidentiality.
What is your cancelation policy?
If you need to cancel an appointment, please provide a minimum of 24 hours advance notice. If 24 hours is not given, you may be responsible for paying for the missed appointment.
Do you provide child, family, or marital counseling?
I do not provide marital, child, nor family counseling.
Do you have any support groups available?
There are no support groups available at this time, but I periodically offer groups and have offered groups in the past. Fill out an inquiry to express your interest, and you will be first to know of future groups!
Can we incorporate my faith into our counseling?
Absolutely; I am able to process faith in our work together, if that is something you are looking for. I also enjoy counseling helpers (professional and pastoral) in the unique lifestyle that comes with being in the helping field. If faith is not something you want to incorporate in our work together, that is no problem; I would love to walk with you.
